Summer Reading Program

Teen Summer Reading Raffle!
Norwell youth entering grades 7 through 12 may register for the 2010 statewide Summer Reading Program, "tnk grEn ." Enjoy a summer of reading and receive a Raffle Ticket for the Grand Prize drawing, an iPod Shuffle in the color of winner's choice! Attach the ticket with your name/phone number to a 2-3 sentence review of a book you read this summer (return ticket anytime before August 6). Request more tickets and write any number of reviews to increase your chances of winning!
Summer activities for Middle School youth:
-- Youth Library Council (YLC) - talk to the Youth Services Librarian about volunteer opportunities throughout the summer;
-- YLC Wii Party - a fun night for YLC members who contributed volunteer hours at the library this summer to relax with friends. Featuring Wii, board games and light snacks. August 4, 6PM. Registration.
-- "Claymation with the Callahans" -- Learn how a stop-motion video is made, with Norwell students Charlie Callahan, Charlie's mom Wendy, and Brian Ferguson. July 14, 1PM (2 hours). Registration.
-- "Flowers Trash & Treasure" -- a one-hour program with the library director Rebecca Freer, past president of the Plymouth Garden Club, and Norwell resident John Holmes. Flower donations are welcom. July 28, 1PM. Registration.
Summer activities for Middle and High School youth:
-- Anime/Manga Club CosPlay Party (for 7th - 12th grade) Come in costume as a favorite anime (Japanese cartoon) character and enjoy a feature-length anime film (tba). July 28, 5:30PM (ends 7:45PM). Pizza and soda served ~ potluck contributions welcome. Registration.
-- Community Service (fill out the volunteer form--download from web site-- and leave at the Circulation Desk).
