Adult Book Discussion Group
The Norwell Public Library offers a monthly book discussion group for people who enjoy reading and sharing ideas with others. New members are always welcome. We read a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction titles, classics and contemporary work. Occasionally authors visit, and we participate in the Norwell Reads project every spring. Recent titles we read were: The Book Thief by Zusak, Winston Churchill by Keegan, Angle of Repose by Stenger, Marley and Me by Grogan, Nineteen Minutes by Piccoult, Nectar in a Sieve by Markandaya and Night by Wiesel.

Meetings are usually held the last Monday of every month except December and August. Check our calendar for specific dates.
Scrabble Night
The Norwell Public Library offers Scrabble Night for interested young adults and adults. Top scorers for the evening are eligible to win a prize. Refreshments are served. This is a friendly competitive environment; regular attendance will surely improve your score.
Meetings are usually held the first Tuesday evening of every month 6:30pm - 7:45pm. Check our calendar for specific dates.
Computer Instruction
The Norwell Public Library offers free, individual, hands-on computer instruction during either morning or afternoon sessions every Thursday and some Wednesdays. The instruction helps people feel more comfortable using a computer and increases their skills. Interested persons may call to schedule an individual appointment. Instruction ranges from basic searching for library materials and internet browsing, to specialized programs such as Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop.
Books to Go
Norwell Public Library provides free long-term or short-term delivery service to your home. A friendly volunteer will assist you in your selections. Reader surveys are provided to guarantee you get the material that you desire. Contact the library for more information.

The library is now wireless for easy access to the Internet. Bring in your laptop and find a comfortable chair. Available during library hours.
Book Page
Book Page, a monthly publication, is now available for free. Titled “America’s Book Review,” this informative and readable source is chock full of book reviews that will introduce you to new authors you will get excited about.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Norwell Library has volunteer positions for teens and adults. If you would like to offer your services, be sure to request a volunteer form and we will match your abilities to the needs of the library. Credit may be applied for high school service requirements and seniors seeking fuel assistance credit. This is a great way to give back to the community in a friendly and stimulating environment.
Cell Phones For Soldiers
The Norwell Public Library has joined the Cell Phones For Soldiers Program. The library is an official cell phone collection center. Used cell phones with battery attached may be dropped in the collection box at the library entryway. The Cell Phones For Soldiers nonprofit organization sells the phones to pay for pre-paid calling cards sent to troops overseas.
